BBQs & Birthdays

Since it's Saturday, Mr. Welder decided to take a break and BBQ...
Not really...but he did build this frame that will eventually be rocked for the outdoor kitchen.
Which will also include an outdoor fireplace.
Wow, it's going to be so nice out here!!!
The rockers made progress.  The door will be framed with rock.
Oh, and look at all those walls studded up!
We're on our way to a shindig and have birthday cakes in the car, so better roll on out of here :)
Happy Weekend!

Cuter with Luder

The rock work has begun!
And so has the wall framing!
And the trim work is wrapping up!
Yes, it was a busy, productive day at Weld House Home #2.

Rain, Rain Came Our Way

God answered all those prayers and sent the rain last night. Muddy grounds kept the remaining trim from being installed at Weld House Home #2 today but materials were delivered, workers were lined up,the grass turned green, and the trees perked up.
 The rock!
Mr. Welder covered the mortar and brick sand just in case more rain decides to pour.
The interior framing, remaining exterior trim, and rock are in the near future and should bring lots of excitement.

This One is for you, Seester.

This morning I had an email from my sister letting me know she drove by Weld House Home #2 and was surprised by how far along it was because I was way behind on blog posts.  To my defense, we figured out her phone was doing something strange and had not shown my last post (you know, the post with one picture that did not really show off the work...) but her email made me even that more antsy to show the progress.  I was already antsy after going by in person and being in awe over how things were looking.  Isn't it looking like a house!?!  Yep, that is how we do it at Weld House Homes :)
Rock is being ordered, concrete stainers and wood framers are being lined up.
These people will be moving in before you know it ;)
I know they are ready.
So, seester is this better?
And for those of you bored trying to pass some time...do you want to know what the other email she sent said?  You never know what you're gonna hear from her.
Here I'll just show you.

"We saw an armadillo on
the way home tonight and it made me think of you and how armadillos used
to be your favorite animal!! How country were we? Ha ha!"

That makes me laugh, but you probably had to be there.

Men vs. Women

Men...one thing about men, they're pretty good at keeping things simple.  Women...we'll have twenty pictures of our dishes to sort through to narrow down, but men they will put on 2/3 of a roof and have one picture to prove it.
It's late, I'm sleepy...
Works for me :)
Oh, and it looks good.

Closing In

Weld House Home #2 is moving right along.  This is the back of the house.  A rock wainscot will cover the tin.
Front
Bird's eye (or scissor lift) view

A day later green tin was installed.
And here is how it looked at the end of the week.  More and more like a house...it won't be too long before it's dried in and work can start on the inside.

Time Flies When You're...Left Out of the Fun

Things are moving along at Weld House Home #2.  Materials are showing up on a regular basis.
The porches have been added. (And the Gator has a parking space.)
Boards have been installed for the windows and doors.
The dormers have made their appearance.
And some electrical has been added to the outdoor living spaces.
Wow, things go a lot faster when you're not there watching, holding up purlin and boards, and avoiding welding sparks and saw dust  :)
Even so, I'm still anxious to see the walls, windows, and doors!
Especially the doors.  My sister-in-law came across a bargain of a lifetime on the doors.  Aren't things even prettier when you get a good deal?!
Well, the doors are pretty anyways according to the glimpse I got of them on the trailer. The bargain price is just icing on the cake.  And the windows are huge and beautiful.
I REALLY CAN'T WAIT TO SEE IT!
But I guess I'll have to :)
